Rocking Chair University - BYOB

Hal,

I want to thank you for taking the time to put together the plans for this most comfortable of rocking chairs. As a woodworker, these two chairs have been the most satisfying projects that I have ever done. The sense of accomplishment this gives me and the joy the recipients get from this chair makes all the work well worth the effort.

Recently I got a great deal on some waterfall bubinga. It’s absolutely beautiful wood. My next chair will be made from this material and is slated for my wife. I can’t wait to get started on this one.  Scott L.

BYOB Bring Your Own Boards!    $3,000

My BYOB program was created for people who like to pick out their own wood and are more than likely able to finish the chair up on their own after the chair is essentially "constructed" (seat fully shaped, legs, back braces and headrest installed and the rockers built but not attached. All of the finish sanding will be left to do.

I can procure your wood if you like, the cost will be between $700 and $1,500 depending on the wood you select. Email the type of wood you would like me to look for and I will let you know the price.

If, at the end of five working days, if you would like to continue working together for a day or two, we can do that at a cost of $400 per day.

Drop me a note if you have any questions about this program.

When a student makes rocking chairs from my plans, seminar, byob or "make your own rocker" program I support them in any way I can. If you build a web site, I will put a link from my site to yours so potential customers can find you.
