A good band saw is a necessity.
A good drill press is also very nice to have
A planer is nice to have for some, although I do not use one
A table saw is, in my mind, the most essential tool
A jointer is essential in my view although you could live without one if you enjoyed hand planing.
This one is a little on the small side, I chose to show this one because of the angle adjustment. I owned a jointer much like this for years and could change the angle to anything I wanted and change it back to precisely 90 degrees in less than five seconds. --------- NO other jointer, that I know of is that easy to adjust ------- I have to ask: What the devil is going on with machinery manufacturers these days??
In my opinion (and that of many others) this is the best plane money can buy these days. Veritas bevel up low angle This is the exact plane that I use every day. I have a smaller block plane that is lovely and the two larger versions of this plane. All of them are works of art!
If you do not have one of these you might think seriously about getting one. Oscillating spindle sander attachments can be purchased for your drill press but do not work as well as a dedicated machine.
This is the exact model I have and I have been working it like a dog for the last 16 years and not a peep out of it.
A LOT of clamps
You need at least one router - I have seven or eight because I hate to change router bits!
